Small loan funds had been set up across London by local councils, charities, and individuals to help people start up a business. These local funds always needed money to lend the entrepreneurs. They had to rely on funds from the Government or business sponsors.
GLE oneLondon is an organisation that provides a wide range of business support to people thinking of starting their own business. They saw the chance to help enterprising people raise enough money to make a difference to their chance of success. Their focus was people who would be unable to obtain finance in the usual way e.g. from a bank.
GLE oneLondon made contact with Linklaters asking them for 'pro bono' legal advice to help put their plans into action.
