The outcome
The 'Heroes' project was a great success and is a major part of Humanutopia's work at Harefield Academy. Other schools have also been impressed with the programme and Humanutopia is building partnerships with schools throughout the country.
Students have proved to be heroes by running a number of activities for younger children. These include running an induction day for year 7 pupils, a citizenship day and a social enterprise day.
Year 11 students from Harefield have also delivered a conference aimed at encouraging students from other secondary schools to become 'Heroes'.
One final challenge was to create and deliver a summer camp for the new Year 6 intake, to help them settle into their new school.
