Google

At the forefront of technology

The challenge

How can Google encourage its staff to come up with new ideas when they still have their day to day jobs to do?

Google knows that to keep ahead of its competitors and to continue offering users improved products and useful new products, it needs to encourage its staff to think creatively, without restraint and sometimes even in a 'quirky' way. People are the life-blood of Google.

Most Googlers work normal hours in their roles and are loyal to the organisation. By nature of their skill-set, they tend to have a personal interest in technology and its development. If Googlers fail to come up with new ideas and execute them quickly, this could have a negative effect on the success of the company in the future. It is essential that Google motivates its staff to think creatively and to come up with new ideas.
